In short
We use your email and account details to run your account. We do not sell anything, so we collect no payment data, and we do not use advertising trackers. We use Google Analytics to measure visits (see the Cookie Policy): with your consent it sets cookies; without it, it sets none and sends Google only cookieless signals that cannot be tied to you. Your reading settings (tone, scene, pens, bookmarks) stay in your own browser.

We do not take payments and we do not ask for special categories of data (such as health or political opinions). Please do not put such data into documents unless you need to; documents are private to your account.
Data kept only on your device: your reading tone, background scene, pen marks, bookmarks, day/night choice and cart are stored in your browser’s local storage. They are not sent to us. See the Cookie Policy.
How we use it
- to provide the site: accounts, library, downloads, online reading and documents;
- to send service messages, such as order confirmations and security notices;
- to protect the site and enforce our terms;
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not sell or rent personal data. Book descriptions are written with AI using book information only; your personal data is never sent to the AI provider.
Legal bases (for people in the EEA and UK)
- Contract: to create your account, deliver what you buy and provide the documents feature.
- Legitimate interests: security, fraud prevention and keeping the site working.
- Consent: only where we ask for it, for example optional emails. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who we share it with
- Hosting and infrastructure providers that store and deliver the site, under contracts that require them to protect the data.
- Authorities and advisers where the law requires it, or to protect our rights, and professional advisers bound by confidentiality.
How long we keep it
- Account data: until you delete your account, then removed within 30 days (backups clear within 90 days).
- Technical logs: up to 60 days.
- Messages to us: up to 3 years after the matter is closed.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR or CCPA), you can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your data and tell you how it is used;
- correct data that is wrong;
- delete your data, or limit or object to certain uses;
- give you your data in a portable format;
- stop using data based on your consent.
Email [email protected]. We answer within one month. You also have the right to complain to your data protection authority. We do not sell personal information and we do not discriminate against you for using your privacy rights.
Security
Connections use HTTPS, passwords are stored as salted hashes, access to the admin area is restricted, and secrets such as API keys are stored encrypted. No system is completely secure, so we also ask you to use a strong, unique password.
Children
The site is not aimed at children under 16 and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
Our providers may process data outside your country. Where the law requires it we rely on approved safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell registered users.
