About this book
A nineteenth-century antiquarian history of Gujarat, the second volume of A. K. Forbes’s Ras-Mala brings regional history together with the legends and folk traditions through which it was remembered. Forbes draws on local chronicles and bardic accounts, using inherited stories alongside written records to reconstruct the past. The English narrative was aimed at readers of Indian history and antiquities, and it also preserves how Gujarat’s history was told and transmitted.
